Finding the Right Unit Size for You
A 5’ x 5’ (25-square-foot) unit is equivalent to a hall closet or a small bedroom and will fit about 50 file boxes.
A 5’ x 10’ (50-square-foot) unit is equivalent to a walk-in closet and will hold a mattress set, a dining room set or 100 file boxes.
A 10’ x 10’ (100-square-foot) unit is equivalent to your average bedroom and will fit the furnishings of a one-bedroom apartment with a refrigerator, patio furniture, and a washer and dryer, or about 200 file boxes.
A 10’ x 15’ (150-square-foot) unit is equivalent to a large bedroom and will fit the furnishings of a two-bedroom apartment or a small house, including a refrigerator, a washer and dryer, and yard furniture, or 300 file boxes.
A 10’ x 10’ (200-square-foot) unit is equivalent to a one-car garage and can hold the furnishings of a three- or four-bedroom house with major appliances, garage contents, extra boxes and miscellaneous items.
A 10’ x 30’ (300-square-foot) unit is about the size of an extra-large garage and holds furnishings for a four- or five-bedroom house with major appliances, boxes and miscellaneous items.
